Thank you to our friends from Widget Financial for surprising our students with ice cream sundaes! This special treat was a celebration for finishing their PSSAs; but, of course, ALL of our students work hard so ice cream (or popsicles) for everyone! A big congratulations to Havannah Harmon for winning 1st place for second grade and to Keenan Schlee for winning 2nd place for fifth grade in the WQLN Writers Contest. We are super proud of these talented young authors!

Good Morning IES families! As the weather warms up, and more of our students are walking to school, we wanted to remind families of the 8:15 start time and ask that students begin lining up at 8:15 by grade level. There will be markers placed out front to designate the separate areas. Students will be welcomed in to the building beginning at 8:15 by grade level. Thank you for your help and have a great day!

From Mrs. Vrenna- IES will host the Buy One, Get One Free Book Fair May 6-10. EVERYTHING at the fair is BOGO! When your child purchases an item, they will get another item of equal or lesser value for free! Due to restocking issues, Wishlists will not be created. Students are encouraged to pay for items using the eWallet system offered by Scholastic, however, cash will also be accepted. Congratulations to Miss Schlee’s class and to Keenan Schlee, from Mrs. Skelton’s group. They entered the Young Writer’s Contest. Students were asked to write a “Ridiculous Saga” in 100 words or less. All of these students were chosen by a team of writers to be published in an anthology by @YoungWritersUSA. So proud of them!

Attention IES families: We are so pleased with student attendance and effort displayed on last week's ELA PSSAs. We know our students have been working hard all year and tomorrow is the next chance they have to showcase just how smart they are on the Math PSSAs. Please remember to get a good night's sleep and, as always, breakfast is provided for all students prior to testing. See you tomorrow!

Good evening IES Families! As a reminder, tomorrow students in grades 3 through 6 will begin PSSA testing! To help your children do their best on the assessment, make sure they get a good night's sleep! As always, we will provide a delicious free breakfast at school. IES was excited to host it's annual PSSA Parade! Students in grades Pre-K through 2nd grade gathered in the gym to cheer on the 3rd through 6th grade students as they prepare for the PSSAs next week! We were fortunate to have Mr. Trojak's IHS Leadership students and Mr. Ferruggia's student band The Bully Pulpits in attendance as well. Today was a great day at IES!

Attention IES Families: Mrs. Miller, Miss Wittman, and the 4th grade students are collecting used but undamaged eclipse glasses to send to Latin America so school-age children can view the October 2024 Annular Eclipse. Glasses can be turned into homeroom teachers or they can be dropped off to the donation bin located in the Iroquois Elementary School office.
